The BEKO Partnership with Fenerbahce
For sports programs, it is essential to have a sponsor/sponsorships that help promote your team, your players, and your brand. Many of these programs look to create a partnership with another company that matches their brand personality and aligns with their values. In 2018, Fenerbahce came to an agreement with BEKO for a multi-year partnership.
Beko is now the naming partner of Fenerbahçe Men's Basketball Team. They originally supported other teams throughout the Turkish Basketball League as well as the European Basketball Championship, and they have now signed on to sponsor Fenerbahce for multiple years.
The choice to partner with a company like BEKO is very interesting because it shifts focus onto the campaign of BEKO and what they stand for.
BEKO's slogan “Eat Like A Pro”, is an initiative they launched to fight childhood obesity. BEKO is looking to promote healthy eating habits among children by advertising their hero basketball players as role models.

Fenerbahce's partnership is one that has turned heads because of the prevalence of obesity throughout Turkey, as well as through the world. Also, BEKO is a large entitty through the world, known as a leading white goods brand that "provides products and services in more than 130 countries." o
According to Childhood Obesity Research in Turkey, one in every ten kids is obese and 15 percent is overweight, and by solidifying this partnership, BEKO can reach a much larger audience to promote healthy eating habits and attack this rising epidemic of obesity. Do you think that this partnership is a good idea, and do you think that this is a value that a basketball team could align with?

Great blog post! I think that this partnership is an excellent idea, and it's inspiring to see a basketball team align with such an important value. It is impressive how BEKO's initiative to fight childhood obesity aligns with Fenerbahce's brand personality and values, making this partnership a win-win situation for both parties. By promoting healthy eating habits among children through their hero basketball players as role models, BEKO can reach a much larger audience and make a significant impact in the fight against obesity, which is a significant issue worldwide. Do you feel this would be a successful partnership for Fenerbahce?
ReplyDeleteThank you for your reply! I believe that this partnership is a great opportunity for both BEKO and Fenerbahce. The teams brand personality and values are in alignment with BEKO's initiative, making them a perfect match.
DeleteAwesome Post! Its cool for a team to bring on a sponsor not just for the money incentive but for a great cause. I was astonished to read those statistics about obesity in Turkey so I'm glad they are looking for ways to combat these issues. Overall, I think the sponsorship is mutually beneficial and is something other teams not only Europe but also in the U.S should look into, sponsorships for a cause.
ReplyDeleteIm glad to see that the statistics about obesity in Turkey shocked you, as they did me. I think it's wonderful that this team is looking for ways to combat these issues, and I agree that other teams in Europe and the U.S should look into sponsorships for a cause...
DeleteLove this post!! I love this partnership idea with BEKO. I have never heard of this company but after this blog I am interested to learn more about them. It really makes me smiles when I see a professional sports club partner up with a company/foundation to give back to people. Obesity is serious health condition that is going on throughout the world. I really think it is good to really promote towards the kids and starting to eat healthy because they are at the age where they can keep that routine but are also starting to get interested in sports. I know if it was me and I saw my sports team that I idolize back home promoting the idea to eat healthy, I would hop onto that idea immediately.
ReplyDeleteIt really is an amazing partnership idea, and BEKO is an incredible company. I'm so glad that this blog has sparked your interest in them... I agree it is important to teach kids about eating healthy and being active, and it's great to see a professional sports club stepping up to the plate and doing their part. Thank you for your support!
DeleteGreat post! I really think this is a great partnership that sets a good precedent for what big sports clubs should also use their platform to do. Sports are the perfect platform to promote healthy habits and the importance of exercise because of the ability to inspire people to look like and be able to do what the healthiest people on the planet do. I know in my experience with exercising and diet, I have definitely referenced pro athletes and what they did to be in the best shape possible. I hope that more clubs follow this example and allow their athletes to change the world for the better and be the heroes that everyone looks at them as.

DeleteThanks for the feedback! I agree with the fact that sports promote healthy habits and i have aswell refered to pro athletes or celebrities for inspiration for dieting or healthy workouts.
Deletethis is a great take on their sponsorship overview i agree with you about being able to reach a much larger audience by connecting with the team i personally think that this has a beneficial impact on the brand just as much as the team it ties a professional team to there health foods making people believe thats a key reason why those players are able to be high level athletes making the fans want to eat the same thing driving the demand up
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you agree! I think the connection between the team and the brand is a powerful one, and it certainly has the potential to boost demand for the health food
